Meeza card has contributed significantly to Egypt's goal towards financial inclusion.

It is a smart bank card used by the Ministry of Social Solidarity to pay the Takaful and Karama pension.

The National Bank of Egypt and Banque Misr both offer Meeza debit cards and Meeza prepaid cards that can be used in various transactions such as withdrawals, deposits, and internet transactions, as well as paying various utility bills.

Get your own Meeza card issued by the National Bank of Egypt

 

  • You will need a copy of a valid ID card or passport.
  • Go to the nearest NBE branch and subscribe.
  • The fee for issuing the card is 15 EGP.
  • Annual fee: 10 EGP.
  • Replacement of lost or damaged card fee: 10 EGP.
  • One of its advantages is that there are no fees on withdrawals and deposits when using NBE ATMs but the commission for withdrawing from ATMs of other banks is 5 EGP.
  • The maximum card limit is 50,000 EGP which is also the local daily purchase limit.
  • Cash withdrawal limit is 30,000 EGP.
  • The monthly card transaction limit is 100,000 EGP.

 

What are the advantages of using Banque Misr’s Meeza card?

 

  • Banque Misr’s Meeza cards are valid for five years.
  • The card is issued by opening a current account, a savings account, or day by day account at any of the bank's branches.
  • You can use your Meeza card from Banque Misr for cash withdrawals and purchases in Egypt.
  • The card can be linked to a maximum of 6 accounts in addition to the primary account (current, savings, certificate).

 

Transfer between private accounts

 

One of the advantages of Banque Misr’s Meeza Card is the ability to transfer between your accounts through Banque Misr’s ATMs.

You can check the balances of the linked accounts to the card by subscribing to the free instant banking service BM Online Banking available on the bank’s website.

 

Banque Misr’s Meeza card fees

 

  • Card issuance fee: 20 EGP.
  • Annual renewal fee: 20 EGP.
  • Replacement of damaged or lost card fee: 10 EGP.
  • Withdrawals using other banks’ ATMs fee: 5 EGP.
  • No fees when withdrawing using Banque Misr’s ATMs.

 

Other advantages of Meeza card from Banque Misr

 

You can make purchases within Egypt for a maximum of 15,000 EGP per day, and 300,000 EGP per month.

You can withdraw cash from Banque Misr's ATMs, other banks’ ATMs and POS in Egypt for up to 20,000 EGP per day, with a maximum of 5 transactions per day, and 100,000 EGP per month.
