What is a swift code and how do you find it? Is it the same as an IBAN? How can you find any bank’s swift code for transfers?
It is an international financial transaction system that countries rely on so much that if any country is banned from using SWIFT it can be a true economic disaster as the country’s banks are isolated from the global economy. Its export and import businesses and other economic activities will come to an utter halt.

Swift codes are made-up of eight digits that refer to the bank’s original branch or 11 digits for a specific branch in the following format: AAAA BB CC DDD
AAAA: Bank code made-up of letters only
BB: country code made-up of letters only
CC: location code made-up of letters and numbers
DDD: branch code made-up of letters and numbers. For the main branch this number is removed or it can be denoted by XXX
This is the bank identifier code
Each bank or branch or financial entity has a fixed BIC
It is used for international banking transfers
SWIFT refers to The Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Communication, an international network for financial transactions between countries.
BIC is the bank’s fixed identification code composed of eight or 11 digits
Both terms refer to the same thing there is no difference
