On the other hand Depp was ordered to pay Heard $2 million in compensatory damages only.

Heard’s losses won’t be just financial as she has to pay damages to Depp; this judgment will also affect her Hollywood career. Reports claim Amber may be blacklisted for the foreseeable future and this verdict may affect her current projects such as Aquaman 2.
The jury deliberated for 3 days before announcing their verdict on Wednesday at 5 pm.
They went over 42 questions to decide whether Amber Heard’s 2018 article on domestic abuse in the Washington Post was defamatory against Johnny Depp or not.
In 2018 Johnny Depp sued Amber Heard for defamation of character after her Washington Post article on domestic abuse was published. Johnny sued Amber for $50 million in damages to which she responded with a counter suit of $100 million
Amber heard can appeal the verdict which may reduce the amount of damages she has to pay but either way no bank would be insane enough to lend her the money – her reputation is shot and her career is probably over.
